Since its first appearance in 2019, the series has grown from the specialized public broadcasting experience to a cultural phenomenon, and attracted nearly 9 million viewers in 2024.

“We are very satisfied,” said Johan Ehraj, director of the SVT project in the series. He emphasized that the team had taken 478 hours of footage, with 26 cameras remotely, seven night vision and unmanned shots since its launch on April 15.

The great migration of Moss is part of an increased magic with “slow TV”-the type that started in 2009 when Norway was broadcast on a seven-hour tradition of train from Bergen to Oslo.

The concept has since found a place of worship across Europe, with a 12 -hour marathon, 134 -hour sea trip, and even the stove that leads Netflix plans in the United Kingdom on boxing day.

Verification of its popularity, so SVT has sent a payment notifications when the first mousse appears, while a dedicated Facebook group includes more than 76,000 members now sharing scenes, screen and speculative shots about the following appearance.

Although the official viewing numbers of this year’s season have not been released yet, SVT has already confirmed that Moss will return next spring to obtain an eighth version.
