TGL takeaways: 4 things the new league can improve in Year 2

The TGL Championship match begins on Monday night, when Atlanta will enter New York at 9 pm Eastern time at ESPN.

It is the best series of three, as the second match was determined on Tuesday at 7 pm Each time.

The rubber match, if it arrives there, will take place on Tuesday evening, immediately after the end of the second match.

The first match will include Billy Horselil, Justin Thomas, Patrick Canaley representing Atlanta Drive, while Zander Shofil, Riki Fowler, Cameron Young, and white golf club in New York. These two teams played each other once before, on January 21, in the third match of the TGL opening season. It was also Naam, as Atlanta defeated New York Easily, 4 to 0.

But before the battle began for the Sufi Cup, we wanted to make four suggestions on improving TGL in general.

4. More shifts and turns into a hammer

The hammer was a small touch during the opening TGL season.

If you are not aware of how to do this, here is how it goes:

Whatever the hammer team can throw it on any hole. When it is thrown and accepted by the opposing team, the total point of the hole increases by one. The holes calculate one point, similar to the matching play, while the hammer increases the value of the hole to two points.

There is a warning to this though. The opposition should accept the hammer if the team threw it before a shot is turned on. However, if the hammer is thrown after the hole appears, the other team can reject it. But if this team denies this, they lose the hole.

To date, the hammer was so successful – so that TGL carried out a base that changes in the middle of the season. On February 14, TGL announced that each team will have three demands Go ahead instead of the past. This increased the fluctuations in the designated match, while giving each small, small juice hole.

We want to see more transformations and turns like this in the second year.

What are these? who knows. But the hammer is a distinctive, enjoyable concept for TGL. Perhaps there is a new addition in the next year when the player loses a turn. Or someone must hit a shot from the left. Whatever it is, the league must throw more transformations and turns. It is a TV product, after all.

3. More teams, including LPGA stars

TGL publicly stated that it would expand beyond its six teams, but who will be included and the number of the number that will join mystery.

The “Texas” team from Scotti Chefler, Jordan Sbeith, Will Zalatoris, and Dog Jim can be a pleasant addition. Golf fans will welcome the opportunity to see the number 1 world and perhaps the most entertaining players on this planet, Spiet, TEE IT at the Sofi Center.

But TGL must invite LPGA stars to join as well.

Perhaps for each team LPGA player, like Nelly CordaCharlie Hall, or Lydia Co. Or, perhaps the rising star, such as Jeeno Thaitikul or Rose Zhang, can enter. Other solid options can be Australia Hannah Green and French Celine Botier, both of which have won important occasions over the past two years.

Or does TGL create a team for all Latkeliti to compete against men? This can be fun. Grant, TGL will have to merge a different set of tendencies for women because he does not have the same club that men do. But given the progress of technology at the Sofi Center, this should not be a problem.

2. Schengen match times

We have been invited before, but it’s worth repetition: you don’t need TGL matches for two hours to complete. Certainly, part of the deal is to sell advertising revenues and build enough commercial load to compensate for costs and ultimately transfer profit. But the 90 -minute match is more than enough instead of the current 120 minutes.

Eliminate the lengthy entrances, which often take 10 minutes. We also do not need the end of the first half. It is not found in the golf and should not be part of TGL as well.

The biggest attraction for TGL is the pace of play. It moves quickly. It moves quickly. The 40 -second snapshot watch moves things, and the same match must also follow this idea.

In addition, with 90-minute matches, you can accommodate double heads like a double inside N-Out. The first match begins at 7 pm and starts at 9 pm, which can be used for 30 minutes between the warm -up period, interviews and other features that may be included in the first half report.

Keep things moving. This is what golf lovers want.

1. The season ends sooner

Once the PGA tour descends to the Sunshine state in early February and late March, everyone’s focus begins to turn into Augusta National. Who is heading in the right direction? What is the dark horse that can win the green jacket? He can Rorre McLeroy finally win Thus, the seventh is a player who wins Grand Slam?

Players also reside during March, as TPC Sawgrass is the perfect starter for a master’s degree. It is a great environment with the best completion of the golf game, a course that separates Haves from others, especially during the past few years. Sawgrass requires a specific accuracy from Tee to Green, hitting the wonderful ball, and a creative short game, unlike Augusta.

All this means that the golf world does not focus on TGL at this stage on the calendar. The great championship season began to crystallize, and the best players want to focus their time and efforts to practice Augusta and the next subsequent old ages. Golf lovers have their eyes closed to them as well.

Therefore, we suggest that the second TGL season begin in late November or early December. Most TGL players in South Florida live anyway, so moving to a Sufi center in the Palm Beach Gardens should be a breeze. In addition, with ESPN rights Monday night footballTGL can find a permanent place on Tuesday evening on “The Worldwide Leader in SPORTS”. A consistent and night -night opening of the week will help this new league. ESPN can promote TGL on Monday night football Broadcast synthesis while entering a new TGL season before Christmas.

After that, TGL should be concluded after a week after the formation week. This may include qualifying matches on the Presidents Day, a holiday that included some regular season matches this year. But regardless of the details, TGL must end its season before the players, at least.
