‘The White Lotus’ Season 3, Episode 1 recap: We’re going to Thailand

“The White Lotus”, the Mike White Black Comedy Anthology series, to HBO for the third season. Times personnel loves to escape, but since we cannot take a trip to Thailand to stay in a luxury resort, the best thing is indulging in the new season. Follow with us for each episode and discuss theories and observations and our favorite moments that lead to the end.

More than two years have passed since the second season of “The White Lotus” ended on HBO with a wonderful conclusion that deserves the M. that Tania Macood has witnessed to this wonderful luxurious resort in the sky.

Now the waiting and “The White Lotus” finally returned, with a wonderful new site; A new group of wealthy and terrible people to harmony. And a lot of ambiguity to empty.

This procedure has moved to several thousand miles in the east to the lush island Thailand. The third season, again written and directed by Mike White, opens as we all know: with a dead body. A young man named Zion (Nicholas Doferna) contemplates the hotel staff Amarta (Shalini Peres) at a picturesque suite when she rings gunshots. Zion is covered behind the Buddha statue in the Lily Pad pond, and the corpse is floated.

We cut a week ago, to what is now a familiar sequence: guests who arrive across the boat (in this case, undesirable from red crowds).

The first person we see on board is Belinda (Natasha Rothuel), The employee in a spa is not arranged from the first season, which went to work with Tania. It is in Thailand to get to know the resort’s wellness program. (Based on evidence, Zion, from the opening scene, appears to be her son).

There is also the Ratelv family, which consists of the southern wealthy Timothy (Jason IshaqHis wife who fills the pill, Victoria (Parker Bossi), and their three children: his hateful brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), and religious studies Megor Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Luchelan (Sam Nifola), the youngest.

On the boat, Sexon and Timothy clashed with the angry Rick (Walton Gugs), Which is located in Thailand for mysterious purposes with his younger girlfriend, Aimee Lou Wood.

The last party on the plane are Lori (Carrie Con), Kate (Leslie Pep) and Jacqueline (Michel Monagan), and childhood friends enjoy a trip for girls on the other side of the world.

Once they arrive in the island, they meet the hotel staff, including director Fabian (Christian Feridel), the magician Sri Lawtala (Lake Patravadi), and the Moche Manual Consultant (Lalisa Manopal, also known as Lisa from Blackink) and Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong), The Security , The Security is clearly crushing it.

There is not a great deal of procedures in episode 1, entitled “The same Life, New Forms”, but we left many questions.

What is the parachute work that Timothy reaches, and why was it shook through that phone call from the Wall Street Journal, who asks questions about a former colleague in Brunei? What happens with his older child, Saxon, who is bullied obsessed with porn and describes his sister as “hot”?

Why does Rick Chelsea mean, and why is he invested in the tracking of Jim Holinger, the American co -owner of the resort and Sri Law, who appears to be recovered in Bangkok?

When will women run their “middle age crisis” each other? What happens with Lauri, who ends the episode alone in her room, and they cry over a bottle of wine? And why her old friends, Jacqueline, a television star, and Kate, who married well, shower each other with compliments with Laurie clearly ignoring?

The most interesting ever: What is the husband of Tania Greg (John Grace), the last time in the second season, suddenly leaving for a “working meeting in Denver”, and he is doing in Thailand with a younger friend? Is Bellinda, who watches Greg sitting across the restaurant, put two and two together?

It is now time for Vioonial, Merridith Blake and Greg Brakston, Pattinum Statos members in the “The White Lotus” guest program, to break everything.

Where is all this heading? Any early predictions about who will end as a body?

Blake: I have no idea about who is the person, and he is floating on a face down next to the lily platforms, but I have a feeling that the fruit from the Pong Pong tree will have to do with it. Just like a chickouf rifle, if there is a very toxic fruit, it is possible that someone will eat it.

Villarreal: Yes, this fruit will definitely cause some troubles. I will only guess for guessing and say that a corpse is the personality of Walton Goghins, Rick, because an eccentric person and the smell of sweat smells of death. But my fear is that the corpse will be Gaitok, the sweet hotel worker who looks special and skeptical in the right people. I have no idea what awaits us, but I bet that Jim Holinger will regret his release from the hospital.

Prazston: I am not fully convinced that it is a corpse. It is a quick glance. The show may throw a curve for us, which is actually a dangerous crocodile or seafood. But if it should be a body, I will press Greg. There should be justice and closure of tragic death in Tania.

How do we feel the new song and open credits?

Blake: Frankly, I was confused about the latest Remix song. But I liked some needle drops, like the song that is running because the new guests on the boat, which Shazam tells me.Made in ThailandBy Karabao. Banger!

Villarreal: Yes, there was no effect in the end of the rhythms as I found myself having to repetition. Cristobal Tapia de Veer is the composer responsible for the viral “white lotus” topics. Song of the first season, “Aloha!” , And the introduction of the second season, “Al -Nahda”, shares in consistent melody with distinct devices, dancer and ritual rituals, but were designed to reflect the season of the season (Hawaii in the first season and Sicily in season 2). I do not hear the same line here, which must tell us something. However, I can appreciate vitality and spiritual for the third season – I mean, we need this with this news course.

BrackstonMusic has always been an essential component and valuable in this series. Although the topic is not immediately attractive like previous seasons, it is still very new. The ruling is still out to me as much as the needle falls.

Who stands out so far?

Blake: Mike White has an excellent record of throwing exotic Gen Z in “The White Lotus”. (See: Haley Le Richardson and Sidni Sweeini) [Richardson]).

Villarreal: Monkeys. The strange offers and great side delivery.

Prazston: In the previous seasons, there were at least one or two of the most prominent, but all the characters had some interesting conflict or conflict that has caused attention to the direction they would go. Parker Bossi is an amazing actress, but her comic energy is called so far (Jet delay?). The husbands and families in Hawaii and Italy had their problems, but their background stories made their relationship understood and learned. Here, it seems more fabricated. For me, all the characters are in the starting blocks, but the gun to start the race is not released yet.

How do we feel hotel staff? Are any of these characters interesting to you so far?

Blake: No one is completely at an unpingive level Armond (Rip) so far. But I am very interested in Surita, who orders the guests coming to roam in the Gulf for another few minutes while putting the finishing touches on her speech. Real singer.

Villarreal: I am lollipop for will/no, so I’m fully invested in Mook and Gaitok.

Prazston: For me, Sriala made the strongest impression. And it can sing! I feel that there is a darker aspect that will be revealed.

What do we do from the dialects of the Ratelv family?

Blake: I am sure that there will be a discussion about the authenticity of Jason Ishaq’s tone, but I thought it was good. You may have seen a lot of real crime documents, but his personality certainly gives me Alex Mardo Fleats. On the other hand, I am not sure whether Parker Bossi is trying to look crazy on intentionally because her personality is very tackled, or if she excels in this withdrawal.

Villarreal: I cannot even think about accents because I focus on strange feelings among siblings.

Any theories about Greg?

Blake: We can be sure that Greg is more than just one of many “LBHS” (“Loses at home”) in Thailand. But assuming that this season has been appointed after The second season – it can be in theory early – it seems clear that Greg got his hands some of Tania’s wealth. Otherwise, how does he maintain his luxurious lifestyle?

Villarreal: I hope he would die for what Litania did.

Prazston: Anyone named Greg should always be considered with great caution.

What happens with Ratelv siblings?

Blake: To date, Sexon reminds me of a completely evil version of Shin (Jake Lasi) from the first season, with all the male male merits but nothing of magic or sometimes sympathetic moments. Everything about this character is the red flag, from its name, Saxon – as is the case in the early Germanic known for the calm of their neighbors – to his interest in the inappropriate life of the sexual life of his brothers. I am also curious about what is happening with Piper. Is it really in Thailand to meet a monk?

Villarreal: On the day I describe the brothers as “very hot” (with regard to assessing their sexual lives, no less) is the day I need someone to hit me on his head with fruits from the Pong Pong tree. So, yes, Saxon gives me ICK as well, Meridith.

Brackston: Looking at the strong past of Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is somewhat worrying to see his son playing a self -absorbing person and imagining himself as a man for women. But this may be an idea that things will not end well for him when the end comes.

What is your ruling in episode 1? Are you a drug addict?

Blake: I, for the sake of one, is pleased to return to “The White Lotus”. I hold this three -star survival. Yes, episode 1 was a slow burning. But I am not worried. If you remember, Season 2 also started quietly but ended in an amazing way. The new preparation also gives us a lot of rich topics to explore – like embarrassing Westerners who travel to Asia in search of spiritual enlightenment – and beautiful landscapes to look at it. This is what we are all here for, right?

Villarreal: I am ready to float on a lily pillow throughout the season. The episode did enough just to control the theater and provoke questions. Knowing Walton Googins and Natasha Rothweell is part of the chaos that gives me some assertion that everything that awaits will be an enjoyable and applicable journey.

Prazston: I will be a little spoiler here. “The White Lotus” put such a high -tape in its previous seasons in each category – the story, the cast, the direction, and the writing. Mike White is really the strength and development of nature for all diverse characters is very accurate. So I am very disappointed because this beginning did not give me much. Slow combustion is a little slow and brief. But I can be patient, put my confidence in Mike and the amazing actors who will eventually this season will be rewarding.
