Biometric iris scanning launches in US cities for digital identity

Sam Altman, CEO of Openai, known as the creation of Chatgpt, launched a project that uses an eye examination to prove that you are a real person online. The idea is to help people distinguish from robots and AI by creating a digital identifier with a rapid examination of a device called Orb.
While Altman says this technology keeps central humans as artificial intelligence advances, it also raises serious concerns about the privacy and the security of sensitive biometric data, where critics and organizers ask how to use this information and protect it.

How works works ID
World ID depends on a device called Orb, a spherical scanner that picks up a person’s IRIS style to create a unique iris. It stores the code on a Blockchain platform, ensuring that users can check their identity without revealing personal details.
Once you wipe it lightly, individuals receive their global identifier, which can be used to ratify via various platforms where the global identifier protocol, including Reddit, Telegram, and Shopify.
In addition, those who subscribed to the Cryptocurrency WLD are rewarded as a motor. They get the equivalent of $ 40 of distinctive symbols, which they can spend, exchange or share with the other world identity holders.

World ID has ambitious goals, but though, the project faced a major violent reaction. Many people are concerned that storing eye examination data in a global database can endanger their personal information. In addition to the controversy, critics refer to the paradox of Sam Al -Tamman, whose company, Openai, contributes to the challenges of AI that aims to solve the global identifier to solve it, at the top of this project.
Governments in Spain, Argentina, Kenya and Hong Kong either suspended or investigated the project due to concerns about collecting excessive data. Moreover, cybersecurity experts warn that once biometric data is linked to the identity system, it becomes irreversible, which raises fears of potential monitoring.

World ID helps to demonstrate that people online are real human beings, not Amnesty International robots, which is high. In this world that AI moves, it can be an essential safety procedure to ensure that the Internet is a safer and worthy place. Since the system is integrated with Blockchain technology, it can definitely provide a safe authentication over multiple platforms. However, storing sensitive biometric data in a global database will always raise concerns for many.
