Three have apologized after thousands of people reported they were unable to make phone calls on the UK mobile network.
Downdetector, which tracks website outages, showed that more than 10,000 people reported issues with Three in the UK on Thursday.
There have also been several thousand reports from users of Smarty and ID Mobile – small mobile carriers that use Three’s network.
“We are aware of an issue affecting a small percentage of voice services, and our team is working hard to fix this issue as soon as possible,” Three said in a post on X.
“We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
The company said people were still able to use mobile data services and make 999 calls during the outage.
Three’s support team told customers it doesn’t have a “time frame” for a fix, but the company is “working diligently to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
Three has about 10.5 million customers across the UK, according to its website, but it is unclear how many customers are affected by the outage.
Many people on social media expressed frustration with the power outage and described the disruption they said it caused them.
One person claimed They have “missed a medical appointment” due to their inability to receive calls, While another said These issues have left their daughter “stranded.”
Several people have claimed They will leave the network completely.
It is not known whether customers will be able to claim compensation for the outage, although according to communications regulator Ofcom’s website, it “may be appropriate” for providers to offer refunds “while repairs are being made”.
It comes a month after the UK regulator gave Three the green light to merge with former rival Vodafone in a deal worth £16.5bn.
