On the cover of the January 27, 2025 issue, Till Lauer captured Los Angeles’ dramatic skyline. The fires sweeping through the city, which have engulfed some forty thousand acres so far, are among the most dramatic examples of climate change. “Seeing the devastating images from Los Angeles reminded me how quickly places of desire can turn into hell zones if we don’t take care of our environment,” Lauer said.
