Trump Hosts Meloni to Talk Trade and Saving Western Civilization – Twitchy

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni gets it. Firebrand, the spokesman, says what you mean and mean what you say. Her first “Italy” approach to leadership shares a lot with President Trump. They have similar views on many issues such as national sovereignty, defense, illegal immigration, fentanel and trade. Since Trump returned to the White House, Meloni soon became a great ally of his management.

Prime Minister Meloni made an official visit to the White House on Thursday. Commercial deals and definitions were at the top of the agenda, but the world’s similar leaders discussed much more.

The agenda of Meloni’s visit was officially discussing trade between Italy and the United States. I have previously suggested that it will be open to a free zero trade deal between the two countries. However, the correspondents who attended lunch with the president and members of the cabinet were more interested in the Prime Minister’s opinions on tension between the United States and the European Union.

I told them: “I think we can make a deal,” and after that, he was unprecedented, and put her plan.

But instead of the positions, Meloni has submitted a master’s degree in diplomacy – and expanded an invitation to President Trump.

When a drama -stirring correspondent tried –

“The revenge definitions that the European Commission went through and then hung, are they still at the table if you cannot make a deal with President Trump?”

Meloni did not hesitate:

“I am sure we can make a deal.

She made it clear that she was not talking about Brussels – just an attempt to build bridges.

“I’m here to help with it. I can’t, look, deal in the name of the European Union.”

Then the step came:

“My goal will be to invite President Trump to visit Italy and understand whether there is a possibility when he comes to organize such a meeting with Europe.”

Its strategy was simple: skip the drama, speak directly, and find a shared ground.

“I think the best way is that we are simply talking frankly about the needs each of us possesses, and we find ourselves in the middle – beneficial to everyone.”

When asked about her policy?

“Someone calls me like” Western nationalism “, I don’t know if these are the right words, but I am sure that we are together stronger.”

Then I closed a loud and clear message:

“And I have to find a way – I am here to find the best way to make us stronger on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.”

After lunch, the two leaders met in the Oval Office, and President Trump accepted an invitation to visit the state to Rome.

As usual, Meloni and Trump took questions from the press after their meeting. Quality Assurance session was not disappointed.

They claim that if you are listening closely, you can hear the whinsers of Emmanuel Macron, who is transferred to the breeze outside the White House when Meloni said that the words “make the West great again.”

Meloni explained: The battle to save the West is not related to maps or borders.

“When I talk about the West, I don’t talk mainly about a geographical space.”

“I am talking about a civilization.”

“I want to make that civilization stronger.”

She recognized the dispute between the United States and Europe – but now she said it’s time to fix it.

Then the invitation came:

“I would like to thank President Trump for accepting an invitation to an official visit to Rome … and consider the possibility on that occasion to also meet with Europe.”

And I was closed with the line that said everything:

“The goal for me is” making the West great again. “

Meloni not only fights for Italy – it is fighting for the survival of Western civilization.

And Trump? It may be the only one who has the power to help her do so.

Can Meloni pull Europe, kick and scream if necessary, return to reality and save Western civilization?

The meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Meloni exceeded a simple trade deal between two countries. The two have a common vision of the place where relations between the United States and Europe need to go to countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean to flourish and become “stronger together”.

Everything begins with “making the West great again.”
