In one of his first executive orders as president, Donald Trump began the process of withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization. One year’s notice is required to withdraw from the international public health body, at which time the United States will stop contributing funds. The impact can be huge. In recent years, the United States has contributed approximately one-fifth of the contributions to the World Health Organization Budget of $6.8 billion.
