“Ainadamar” from Osvaldo Golijov has arrived in Los Angeles. The opera, one of the most satisfied of this century, depicted the 1936 political execution of the poet Federico Garcia Lorca during the Spanish Civil War during the last minutes of the life of actress Margareta Xirgu. She is about to go on stage in Lorca’s play “Mariana Pinida”, about the heroine of a previous Spanish revolution.
The last Margarita minute lasts on the ground 90 minutes filled with Letmeno in the individual Opera Guligov. Lorca’s life-his soul, love and lust-was revealed in the memories of the past, which does not increase the opera in the production that lacks dance. But the pain of Margarita we feel, her death that we test and Ha Life is sad.
Lorca’s death, then, becomes a borrowed experience. It is the spirit of history. The last action of Margareta is to transfer this spirit to a young actress, Noria, and in this process, for us. The most opera, “Ainadamar” is not a tragic opera, is not an opera of open ends and dispersion, but it is one of the open ends.
Life goes on. But what comes after that?
The production of the length of the movie can feel the right to the modern audience. “Ainadamar” is satisfied with itself, but nevertheless indicates the existence of something else that must be taken into account. But all of this avoids the challenges of magical realism, as the questions about the purpose of poetry, theater, political resistance, life and inheritance are not responsible for death. Golijov’s degree is also unanswered, full of electronic effects, as the sound of the shots overcame complex dance rhythms.
The three main characters are played by women: Margarita (Anna Maria Martinez), Noria (Vanessa Bekira) and Lorca (Daniela Mac).
