Each Uber driver in the UK will be qualified for 20 hours of caring for free children under a new scheme aimed at obtaining more women driving taxis.
They will be able to use the allowance by applying nannies and ice animals for the rest of 2025.
“We really want to attract more drivers on the Uber platform,” said Andrew Brim, Director General of the UK, said.
But the Independent Labor Union of Great Britain (IWGB), which represents drivers, said, “Anyone can see” the so -called “satirical public relations trick.”
“If Uber really wants to support families, they will pay enough money to drivers so that they can buy time with their children,” he told the BBC in a statement.
“Instead, the low fees are forced into Uber drivers to spend a long time on the roads so that in many cases, relationships are torn and families disintegrate,” he added.
Uber said she had tried to care for free children with 1,000 drivers and had a great positive response – with 96 % of those who participated, saying it was easy to work.
Now, the plan will be extended to more than 100,000 Uber drivers in the UK.

Mr. Brem says he hopes that drivers who use the child care plan “realize that this is an important thing they want to continue themselves” after they use their free hours.
