USWNT legend Carli Lloyd leads National Soccer Hall of Fame’s 2025 class

Carly Lloyd She took her place among the greats on Saturday, when she was officially recruited in the National Football Celebrity Hall in Fresco, Texas.
Lloyd, 42, who led US The national women’s team was elected to the World Cup and two Olympic gold medals, which were named twice by FIFA as the best women’s player on this planet, in a ground collapse in the first ball.
Lloyd was devoted to Saturday, along with the main vice -president of Football Commissioner Mark Abbott, and former Chris Armas at USMNT, and Nick Rymanu And former goalkeeper Mary Harvey, who won World Cup Olympic gold with Uswnt In the nineties. Legendary broadcaster Bob Lee was also recruited, but he missed the ceremony due to a knee injury.
All of them deserve this honor completely. Lloyd, however, was the pure title for the 2025 category.
Once it was cut by the United States-20 team, the New Jersey University and the University of Rutgers re-returned to its sport and turned herself into one of the greatest players in all ages.
Despite spending many of her 17 -year -old career as a midfielder, her 134 goals are ever ranked at the highest level, men or women. Lloyd scored the winning goal for her country in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, and she won an unforgettable hat in the 2015 Women’s World Cup final, where she picked up the 16 -year -old title for the most successful in history. Only two players, men or women, appeared in international matches more than Lloyd 316.
“There was no more honor than wearing red, white and blue,” Lloyd said on Saturday.
Along the way, Lloyd’s endeavor has become relentlessly. She had a darker side, though. Her dedication to her craft was consumed. Sometimes the teammates are mistakenly rubbed. She said that she was stopped from her parents and her brothers for more than a decade after leaving a coach in my life, with the passage of time creating a wedge between me and my family.
“I was constantly eliminating,” Lloyd told Fox Sports last month. “I had this addiction to know that I had to improve, and I could improve in several different ways such as a player.”
Football came above all – before her husband, Brian Holins, and before her dream of life to become a mother. On Saturday, Lloyd called the birth of her daughter, Harper, six months ago, “the greatest achievement”.
Before delivering her speech, Carly’s father, Steve Lloyd, presented his daughter in Dais and installed her in the red jacket received by all the celebrities of the Hall of Fame.
“It was important for all of us to be here at the end of this week,” said Steve, who joined the Dallas suburb by the mother of Carly Bam, sister Ashley and his brother Stephen. “What makes it more private is that it was very important to have Carly here.”
Then Lloyd Al -Atefi took the lead.
“I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to say today,” she said. “I knew that I did not need to stand here and talk about how much I love the game, or how difficult it is to work. Most of you really know about me. What I wanted to share it was not a competitor, but as a person, a person.”
“I wish I had more people understand me over the years,” I continued. “I was working as an emotional instrument. I was severe, and I really think that the only way for me to survive in such a severed environment is to be this way. So for my teammates, I would like to say this: I’m sorry because I couldn’t always give you all.”
However, Lloyd insisted that she does not regret.
She said, “Sometimes the journey and difficulty like the trip, I was going to do it again,” she said. “Yes, it was very difficult. There were endless sacrifices along the way, but every part of it was worth it because I loved the game.
“There was nothing that I loved more than winning,” Lloyd added. “But the victory comes at a cost, and I paid this price. But in return, I gained more than I imagined.”
