Drake died on April 7, at his home in Kentucky. He was born on November 6, 1918 in Winshster, Kentucky, just days before the end of World War I. After Perl Harbor, Drake continued to work at the Pacific theater and won the victory medal in World War II, a good behavior medal for the army, the American defense medal with the external service tape, the Asian and Pacific medal with two stars of the battle. He retired from the army and married Lina Wilson Drake. The couple married 65 years ago and Lina died in 2011.
Drake worked as an engineer for the public phone company and retires in 1981.
