This is just beautiful.

There’s a lot to like Grain weevil As a consumer robot it’s functional, but what I really appreciate here is that the control system is just a remote and slapping a camera on the top of the box.

This video, “A Robot Arm That Selects Groceries Like a Real Person,” taught me that I’m not a real person.

A robot that walks like a human walks like a human thinks a robot walks like a robot walks.

And that was my favorite brainstorm of the week.

For us, robots are tools to simplify life. But it has to look friendly too, right? That’s why we added motorized antennas to reach, so simple emotions can emerge – without a full personality. Plus, they match those O_O emoji eyes!

So, the thing I’ve come to understand about ships with sails (thanks, Jack Aubrey!) is that Sailing Which direction the wind is coming from can be difficult. Turns out having a boat with two fronts and no back makes this a lot easier.

I’m Kento Kawaharazuka from the JSK Robotics Laboratory at the University of Tokyo. I am writing to introduce our human auricular hearing system on the Musashi humanoid muscle. The robot can perform 3D sound source localization using a human-like outer ear structure and an FPGA-based hearing system embedded within it.

Thanks, Kanto!

The third Cybathlon took place in Zurich on October 25-27, 2024. The Cybathlon is a competition for people with impairment using new robotic technologies to perform activities of daily living. It was invented and started by Professor Robert Rainer in ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Races were held in eight disciplines including prosthetic arm and leg, exoskeleton, powered wheelchairs, brain-computer interfaces, robot assistance, vision assistance and functional electrical stimulation bikes.

Thanks, Robert!

If you’re going to work on robot dogs, I’m honestly not sure if Purina is the most appropriate place to do it.
