Volleyball coach Mary Wise retires after 34 years at Florida

Gainesville, Florida-Mary Wise, Women’s Volleyball Coach in Florida, who achieved the fourth largest victory in the history of the first division in the first section, was retired on Thursday.

Wise, 65, officially, after the team’s meeting and ended 34 years in Gainesville, during which Gators led to the NCAA championship every season.

“This is a special place, and there was no easy time to get away,” Wise said in a statement. “But after 43 years in the arena, it’s time to get away now … I can’t wait to find out the next sports in a view of my new seat.”

She spent four years in Iowa (1981-1984)-21 years old, she became the youngest major coach in the history of the first section of that time-before joining Kentucky as an assistant. He took over in Florida in 1991 and quickly turned Gators into one of the most successful programs in the country.
