Werner Herzog Makes Animation Debut With ‘The Twilight World’

Herzog said: “I always felt that the story of Hiro Onoda, after it spanned nearly 30 years of dreams of fever in the woods, is more appropriate for literature, not cinema – that is why I chose to tell her through a novel,” Herzog said.

“It wasn’t that until the Psyop producers approached me about adapting the Onoda story in a moving movie that realized that the animation should tell this story in a really convincing and imaginative way,” Herzog said.
