Why a women’s basketball player who graduated in 2016 just entered the transfer portal

Janee Jackson has been a strong player for the three seasons she competed in women’s basketball in the Northern Illinois League and Youngstown.

5 -feet guard guard and 9 descended from Detroit, Michigan, began in 26 of 29 games in which she played as an adult in government penguins, Yongsown, with average of 9.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.1 passes and 1.1 stealing each game during the shooting of 43.3 percent of the floor. It even ranked eleventh among all the league players in senior.

Jackson, for multiple sources of SB Nation, entered the transport portal last week. It is one of more than 1550 players who do this in the total basketball of women this season.

Here’s what is strange in Jackson’s entry into the gate: I graduated from the state of Youngson in 2016.

Yes, really: Jackson, who has not played university basketball for nine years, has just entered the transport gate.

Even the compliance employee in the state of Yongstown, who submitted her request to enter the gate must admit that it is strange and put it in a note attached to its entry, according to a source that enjoys direct access to the gate, the reading: “The institution is aware of the student (so), the student has exhausted.

The introduction of the Jackson Gate also confirms the date of graduation: May 7, 2016.

The number of players entering the basketball gate for men, women and football has reached thousands in all of the past few years. But this season brought a flood of players without any eligibility in the gate. In men’s basketball, More than 150 players have entered without any eligibility.

What these players hope is that House’s decision against NCAA to combat leveling forces NCAA to change its framework about eligibility. Many players – or at least the people who advise them – believe that NCAA can change those rules in the wake of the settlement of the house, or because of numerous continuous Judicial cases Challenge NCAA Civil Standards.

Men’s basketball player Clemerson Ian Shevilin summarized his thinking In a post on X earlier this month: “While I (follow) my options at the professional level, I was told, due to the hallways NCAA cases, to enter the gate at the very external opportunity allowed.”

For many players, with the appearance of NIL and the participation of direct revenues that are likely to be on the horizon, money is the reason for searching for another year of university sports. Another year of eligibility can be another payment day.

It is not clear what Jackson’s accurate motives for entering the transport gate. You did not respond immediately to the SB Nation request for comment. According to LinkedIn, I graduated from Youngstown State with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and since then I have worked in Enterprise, Fedex, and a company called Inviolable Innovations, where she is the creative director.

But NCAA may review her case and determine that she has at least a year of eligibility. Her guidelines for a long time for eligibility were that the players had five years to play four seasons of university sports. Jackson, however, played only three seasons in five years. The seasons played by 2010-11, 2014-15 and 2015-16 were.

After spending a student season in northern Illinois, she moved to Young’s state and was forced to sit in the year according to what the college transfer rules. These days, players can transfer once and play immediately. If they are transferred again as a graduate, they can immediately play for their new school as well.

Jackson did not play the following year as well, as she was a marginalization injury to what could have been her season in the second year. Again, these days, NCAA often gives eligibility exemptions with a little retreat to players with injuries at the end of the season. Sedona Prince is one of the modern examples that has always benefited from the changing private handrails. Her basketball career in Texas began in 2018, and she got a multi -year stop in Oregon, and just ended Tcu This season last season. The prince played four seasons in seven years.

While Jackson may be the only one in the north of 30 years in the gate, she is not a basketball player for the only women who apparently enter this season. Georgia Walli, senior Siuroz, who played in 121 games over four seasons, The gate also entered last week. Grace Kaif, whose average of 16.5 points per game last season is another prominent player to enter the gate after playing four full seasons for Omaha. Another player has no eligibility but in the gate anyway is Nyah Wilson, who played in 103 games with three schools over four seasons.

According to multiple sources, there are about 20 women’s basketball players in the transport gate who seem to have no eligibility.
