Nintendo had talked about the world of games this week after it recently revealed details of the long -awaited Nintendo Switch 2, and it was the third sale committee that was ever made.

Despite the excitement of its upcoming launch in June, fans’ talks may dominate one topic – the price of its games.

The same control unit is similar to its competitors – Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft from Xbox Series X.

But the games are a different story: Mario Cart World, which is launched alongside switch 2, comes at a price of 74.99 pounds.

“It makes it not possible to reach, it’s a lot of match,” to drop one game, “ Chloe Krossan, one of the players with whom BBC spoke at a gym in Glasgow, said.

The BBC told that she was enthusiastic about the control unit and her various games, but she was concerned about the cost concerned.

“I think you can argue that you pay for a game that four people can play,” she said.

“So there is this element – but it is 75 pounds a lot for the game.”

All Switch 2 titles are not expected to be very expensive – but imposing a lot of its best known games still is a major change in Nintendo pricing strategy.

It also risk connecting customers, as the same games can be purchased for different amounts depending on whether they are buying the material or digital version only.

A scheme that shows the prices of Nintendo Switch 2. The same console is 395.99 pounds, and prices are listed in two games. Mario Kart World costs 74.99 pounds sterling for the physical version, 66.99 pounds for the digital version, and 34.99 pounds sterling as part of the console package. Meanwhile, Donkey Kong Banza cost 66.99 pounds for the physical version, and 58.99 pounds sterling for the digital version.

Experts do not think that Mario Cart World will be one.

Christopher Dring, editor-in-chief and co-founder of the game’s work, said he is expected to see high prices elsewhere as well-especially for the most expected titles, such as the latest version of the Grand Theft Auto concession.

“I think if you will see a game you will be able to impose more, search for it when GTA 6 gets the date of release later in the year,” he said.

He says there are many reasons that prices may rise, part of which is that modern games are a lot of work.

“These games take longer to make them, they require more people to make them,” he said.

But there is also the fact that video games prices did not keep up with inflation.

“I bought N64 games for 50 pounds at the end of the century and this is 80 pounds today,” he pointed out.

For some time, the developers got this by collecting transactions in games and relying more on the cheapest digital downloads.

But this process, says Mr. Tring, is running out of the road.

“This growth has started to slow down, so they now depend on the increase in prices.”

But it is clear that these types of prices will not lead to everyone’s situation.

Another player, Katherine Brown, said that she and her family are excited to switch 2 – even if he was “more expensive than usual.”

“If you get good reviews, and wait for people to buy them first, we will think about it,” she said.

Luis Totcher – who has had the original switch from the day of its launch – said he would get the control unit as soon as he could withstand the cost of games.

But he said, given the cost of developing the game at the present time, he was “surprised” that his price did not rise soon.

But what will retailers do?

Mr. Drng BBC told this it is the first time that the physical and digital games of the control unit have been priced differently.

He said this may be a real blow to people who sell physical games.

“When Switch Nintendo is released, about 80 % of its sales are in a box – if you compare it to Xbox, about 80 % of new gaming sales are digital.

“By charging more for the physical version, people will encourage people to download more, which is good for the final result of Nintendo.”

But of course it will be the worst for retailers who miss sales of the material game.

Failure price

There is one thing that Nintendo hopes to avoid repetition is the catastrophic launch of the 3DS portable in 2011.

It has become hot from DS, which is the best -selling in history, as it seems that the fans appear to be desperate to upgrade.

But the price of more than 200 pounds – more than twice the price of the original mobile vulnerability – ignited a panic among the fans who were not ready to rid many of it.

Within six months, Nintendo reduced the price almost half, and over time, she picked up traction.

It is fair to say that 3ds faced other problems such as a faded launch games menu, while Switch 2 is launched with the first Mario Kart game a decade ago.

However, Nintendo has a shape with price decisions with reverse results.

N64 was launched at a price of 250 pounds in 1997, and within a year it fell to 99 pounds.

In 2002, the company reduced £ 21 from 150 pounds, widely for Gamecube Just two weeks before its launch.

By returning the likes of Mario and Donkey Kong to The Switch 2, Nintendo looked consciously to the past with the new control unit.

We hope this will not have to do the same with its decisions about prices.
