Will Power details why he relishes ‘every second’ of his 2018 Indy 500 victory

Will Power – Penske driver
This article is from the first person part of a special series that leads to running 109 of Indianapolis 500 on May 25 on Fox, where Indycar drivers have stood up messages about the meaning of the historical race for them. Read them all here.
To Indianapolis 500,
Every time it revolves around, I start thinking about the privacy of this place really. There is nothing like him.
If you come on the day of the race, it is an event that you have not seen before. The huge number of people, the atmosphere, history – it is unrealistic. You feel that the second is rolling through the gates.
[The race] It challenges you in every way – mentally, physically and emotionally. And when things gather, they reward you in a way that no other race can.
Seven years have passed since I won 500, and I still remember every second of that day. Driving to the Al -Nasr neighborhood with many people chanting … gives you the cry of terror. As a driver, it is the final feeling – something you dream of since the beginning of your career.
This race is not just another station in the calendar. He is the person we all want. It challenges you in every way – mentally, physically and emotionally. And when things gather, they reward you in a way that no other race can.
Fans are a large part, making everything very special. You appear rain or sunlight, year after year, and providing the energy that raises everyone. This is part of 500 alive and flourishes after all these years.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story – and here I hope there is still another big moment.
We see you soon.
– will
