With JuJu Watkins as inspiration, USC players aren’t doubting their chances

Spokane, Wash. – The mentality could not be more clear USC It is directed to that Sweet 16 Clash against Kansas.

Trojan horses, a woman without the Jojo Watkens star, are still expected to rise to the level of bills as the best work and victory over the number 5 in Kansas State. And when they did so, they celebrated – significantly decorated to progress to The elite is eight – The opposite of a team still has a lot to prove.

“This team is really focused on continuing our journey and achieving our goals, although the path seems a little different from what it was just a few days ago,” said coach Lindsay Gottlieb. “We are able to enlarge it when we do it together, and this was the message more than anything else.”

Usc knew that there would be a surprise element on Saturday because the opponents spend a lot of time exploring Watercins. But even when Wildcats managed to focus on other players, the pregnancy was spread evenly so that it was impossible to stop them all.

No player was able to repeat the Watercins production individually, not even all Americans Kiki Ervin. What USC needs to do is to re-create Watkins in total by relying on the individual strengths of the remaining players, which happened exactly in the 67-61 victory.

This started by bringing a piece of Watercles to the square. Trojan horses wore shirts with her face on her before the match and had a doll and Watskins Fonco Pob with her on the bench.

“This was huge for our team. It was just a small estimate of Juju and I know that we are thinking about it, and we love it. We are grateful for what we are in, and a lot of why we are here because of it,” Raya Marshall said. “The team looked well in shirts.”

The next step was to play with a competitive Watercals fire. Affiri Hugal, who entered the starting lineup for the second time this season (the first was when Marshall was not available during the opening match of the Big Ten championship), the role of Watskins in the defense. Huil said that Watskins has a way to appear everywhere on the field, and she wanted to mimic this effort, which she did at an angle of four theft and eight rebounds. Her first theft led to the transfer of 3 indications of itself, which permeates the first quarter 16-9.

Hawal also occupied some of Watercins, where he scored 18 points, and drained four triple throws to the total state of Kansas (five) alone. Hill had a sense of the moment, two of three times, with 3 points of plays from Wildcats, and the next fourth after Kansas had reduced its progress to one in the fourth quarter.

With Hill provided the scale behind the bow, Kennedy Smith brought the attacks to the basket. The pressure on the edge of Watskins is among its best skills, especially in the transition, and Smith took seven bullets directly in the basket, where she got six free throws in this process to record 19 teams in the team.

Smith also maintained the defensive USC identity unabatedly on Serena Sondel. Sundeell got its points (22), but most of its success came when Smith was sitting with an unpleasant problem. In 36 minutes of Smith, Trojan horses surpassed wild cats by 19, which means that they lost four minutes of bench in 13.

Without defending Watkins in the paint, Marshall and Clares Aconovo was sufficiently strong so that the guards could stay at home on the archers of 3 points. Marshall said that they practiced a trend of the 6 -foot and 8 -foot video coordinator, and the limited Dio State State Center in Kansas, Iuka Lee to 6 of 13 points to 12 points despite playing 32 minutes.

Marshall also dealt with some of the games industry from high position, as he led USC in a rare trilogy of a rebound, mass and assistance.

Even with the limited IRIAFEN in its production in registration recording and is unable to obtain offensive glass – it mediates 4.3 offensive panels but was detained on one – the Trojan horses had enough.

“I always say that we have a talent from one to 15, and no one believes me when I say that. They think I am nice, but I am very honest,” Iraven said. “This really will help us with our progress, and it is just playing a basketball for the team, and everyone who is the hot hand, and gives them the ball.”

IRIAFEN had momentum in the second round against Mississippi, and new students – the country’s 1 recruitment category for some reason – took the stick against Kansas. A more collective effort will be needed against the second ranked UCONN at Elite Eight, but USC gets to know a new scheme in actual time. On the other hand, the strong structures are better known to anyone that one injury is not enough for a team.

The Trojan horses had faith in what they could do, and they had the narrative fuel around them turning. They now have evidence that the current repetition of Trojan horses can overcome elite opponents.

“We had a lot of feelings, but none of them doubted it,” Gutliplab said. “The prevailing feeling is that we can still do something together, and this is what Juju wants us to do.”
