As a person who has contracts for experience as an interview and a business interview, I am always surprised when I face a rejection – and a complete contempt – for cover messages (especially when this feeling comes from a person who applies to obtain a communications role). Critics argue in the cover speech that recruits do not read cover messages and that they are a waste of the time of everyone.
