Seoul (Reuters) -At least 16 people were killed while many forest fires were all over the South Korea region.
Fittated forest fires spread throughout the southeastern region in South Korea on Tuesday, forcing thousands of residents to flee their homes and wander the neighborhoods, as the authorities transport hundreds of prisoners from prisons.
As of Wednesday, 5 am (2100 GMT), 12 people died in a huge fire starting from the province of Ozng, while four other deaths were linked to other fire from Sanchyong Province, according to the Ministry of Safety.
“The Uiseong fire, which contains only 68 % content and exacerbation due to strong wind, shows a” unimaginable scale and speed. “
Acting President Han Dac Soo pledged to publish firefighting helicopters and ground employees to fight fires, which are fueled by wind and dry weather.
The Ministry of Safety said that the dry conditions in the Hashim area will continue on Wednesday.
He told me that climate change makes forest fires frequent, because forest fires that destroyed part of Los Angeles in January and still a fire in northeastern Japan are relatively rare.
He told a local television station: “We have to recognize the widespread firefights that will increase and prepare more resources and workforce,” he told a local television station.
Among the losses are four people who were trying to escape from the fire, but their car was turned. Three died and one was injured, Yonhap News reported.
The fire that erupted on Saturday has not yet been contained in Ozung, which led to the destruction of old temples and the destruction of homes.
The government has identified the affected areas as a special disaster areas, and said that the fires had harmed more than 15,000 hectares (37,065 acres).
