One of those vacancies was filled on Wednesday, with the Raiders reportedly hiring Tampa Bay Buccaneers Assistant General Manager John Spitek was hired to run their front office. Shortly before this was published, Brady gave a little insight into his role in the Las Vegas search in an interview on FS1.The herd“.
“Right now, it’s a great ownership group,” Brady said. “There are other great people involved. I’m one voice. It’s very collaborative. I think that learning process is very important. So, that’s where I’m at.”
Brady has been reported to have been an active figure in the Raiders’ pursuit of their next general manager and coach. While Brady acknowledged that he had a hand in the searches, he also shared how he handles his role as a minority owner.
“Being a rookie, you have to almost go back to your roots as a rookie and remember that when you’re a rookie, you’re trying to learn as much as you can,” Brady said. “When I was a rookie quarterback, I really immersed myself in the playbook and listened to a lot of the veterans and said, ‘This is the way you do it, Tom. This is how you go about being the best player you can be.’ Then you realize that many years later, 10 years later, you start performing the way you were able to perform.”
As of Wednesday, Brady and the Raiders have interviewed eight candidates to become their next head coach. One of them was previously Detroit Lions Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who was a highly sought-after head coaching candidate this offseason. Although there are reports about Brady Interest in making Johnson the next head coachJohnson ended up becoming… Chicago Bears“The head coach is on Monday.
So, the hunt for Brady and Las Vegas continues. The rumored interest in Johnson would make it easy to assume Brady hopes the team will hire an offensive-minded head coach. But as Colin Cowherd reported, Bill Belichick allowed Brady to work independently with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels during his time with the team. New England PatriotsBrady noted that Belichick’s hands were involved in several areas of the team, noting that he did not want the coach to be isolated on one side of the ball.
“There’s such a conundrum when you look at so many different organizations,” Brady said. “Whether it’s a football, basketball or baseball organization, I think it’s a collective group of people and you have to figure out that puzzle that fits right in. If you have a defensive head coach, which Bill was, Bill was a head coach.” Bill did a great job of coaching, I think he had an offensive background that had to lead the offense and he had the expectations of who-that.
“This whole puzzle with an offensive coach and a defensive coach — it has to be about great people doing great things, working collaboratively, being humble, and learning every year,” Brady added. “You’re always trying to raise your game every year. I feel like that’s what I always try to do as a player. I don’t see it any different in football or in business. Everyone should always be looking to improve and improve.” “Understand where their weaknesses are, how to improve their weaknesses and continue to build on their strengths.”
In addition to serving as minority owner of the Raiders, Brady confirmed Wednesday that he will continue his role as NFL on FOX’s top color commentator. But the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback didn’t want to give up working with an NFL team, which inspired his decision to be part of the Raiders’ ownership group.
Brady said: “I wish I could play football all my life, but 23 years was long enough.” “I was really tired of taking hits and wanted to spend as much time with the kids as possible. So, being involved with the Raiders gives me the opportunity to be involved in football for the rest of my life. I really love teamwork, and I always love seeing others succeed, and I really hope that Other former players have opportunities to participate with teams.”
